Hello to you and welcome - my name is Jim Paterson, a denizen of deepest, darkest Dorset. Amateur photographer and part-time blogger.

A pleasure to make your web acquaintance.

Everything posted here is my own work. I hope y'all enjoy.

Beautiful mid-summer pond scene; sunlight falling on blooming lilies, carp drifting happily underneath the reeds, and what do I see sedately lodged in the middle of it all?

A can of Red Stripe…

(As ever, more of my photography can be found here, I appreciate any and all feedback, and, though I love you all fiercely, please do try and refrain from removing the text/source if you reblog/share this post. Cheers! Jim).

Carried Away - isn’t editing sky shots fun? Rarely post the more absurd, but I really like how the colours turned out with this one.

I was lucky enough to get a few practice shots in for the wedding next weekend with a few obliging friends. The attached are a few outtakes (promised that I’d not post pics with faces showing). Safe to say I’m feeling a bit more confident as a result, though I need to do some work with the optimum use of the flash/light in general.
